If you are involved in the Construction Industry Scheme, you will know that the rules are set to change in a year's time. The new system was supposed to come in this April, but HMRC were not going to be ready.

Although the change is a year away, it's worth remembering that you are supposed to have a clean compliance record for a year in order to qualify for gross payments. Given that you have to make 12 PAYE payments and CIS returns, an annual return of profits for income tax or corporation tax, four VAT returns and payments, and the year-end returns for PAYE as well, there is a lot that can go wrong.

If you are within the construction industry and you want to discuss how the new rules will affect you, or you want advice on how to make sure you keep a clean record, we will be happy to advise you.
