Responsible Officer

Every Academy will need to appoint a responsible officer.

The Responsible Officers post is intended to provide an independent oversight of the academy's financial affairs. Their main duties will be to provide the governing body with on-going independent assurance that :-

As the Responsible Officer, our friendly team can work closely with your financial team to remove all the fears of the transition, reviewing together your current financial systems to ensure they are compatible with the new requirements.

Accounts Preparation

Annual accounts and financial statements to 31 August, will need to be prepared each year which comply with both the relevant Companies Act and the Charities Commission Statement of Recommended Practice relating to charities.

We will work closely with both yourselves and the Auditors, to ensure this function is completed with minimum disruption to yourselves, ensuring that the filing dead line date for submission of the audited accounts, of 31 December, to the Department of Education and Skills, is met.

Audits

Your annual accounts and financial statements to 31 August, will need to be Audited each year to ensure they comply with both the relevant Companies Act and the Charities Commission Statement of Recommended Practice relating to charities.

As part of our Audit work, we are required to carry out a serious of checks in order to provide an opinion on the truth and fairness of the contents of the financial statements and the quality of the organisations accounting systems.

We will work closely with both yourselves and the Responsible Accountant, to ensure this function is completed with minimum disruption to yourselves, ensuring that the filing dead line date for submission of the audited accounts, of 31 December, to the Department of Education and Skills, is met.
